The Eagle House Hotel

First of all, I write this review as someone who has eaten here on a number of occasions and enjoyed drinks on the sun terrace overlooking the Kensey Valley. I haven’t stayed overnight but a friend from work has and he loved the place. He was especially pleased with the options for gluten and dairy free meals, having various intolerances. According to this friend, one used to expensive restaurants in and around London, the choices offered here are second to none. I can personally vouch for the Sunday Roasts, which are wonderful. Great food, local meats, lots of variety in terms of seasonal veg, and lots of it! Washed down with a pint or two of Cornish beer, or one of the Eagle House’s own gins, it’s a lovely way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon. On hot sunny days, the terrace comes into its own. Not only does it offer gorgeous views but the refreshing drinks can involve cocktails made from the hotel’s own gin distillery. Finally, the location helps make this place well worth visiting if coming to Cornwall. It’s right next door to the Castle ruins, which themselves are deserving of your time and attention.
